Originally published as Pixel Pile #1014, on June 7, 2002. Also included in “Home Folks and the Family Tree,” about visiting the site of the long gone Stott family farm that was lost in the Depression: “The main house, now long gone, sat on a rise where there is now a glorious tree. It’s beauty struck me as we drove up, backlit by the setting sun, and as Dad explained that was near where the house used to be, I insisted we stop so I could photograph it as I first saw it. If it was possible for me to have a literal family tree, this is it.” Captured with a Nikon 990.
