Happy Anniversary To Us
12 years and 363 days ago (October 28, 1995), the Atlanta Braves won the World Series … and on that night I first met my future wife.
Six years ago today (October 26, 2002), we got married (photos here, plus my musings in Pre-Wedding Vignettes).
And though we joke that we are now stuck with each other because no one else would put up with our respective crap, the truth is that thirteen years together doesn’t happen “by default,” or by accident.
It’s work. Work you choose to do. But it’s a work of love, and there’s a nice benefits package.
However, we’re not “working” right now, and I’m not really at the computer. I posted this in advance to appear today, as Susan and I are spending a couple of days in a nice hotel suite with champagne and room service, doing our part to boost the economy in difficult times.

Congratulations to you both!
Happy everything, kids, and lots more of it.
You may be about ready for “The Seven Year Itch”.
Congratulations and have a fun day. I was thinking you might be ready to upgrade the Tivo.
Congrats Dude – and stay cool.
From a longtime reader from a faraway place :-)
Regards.
Congrats Dude and Dudette! From monotonous, er, monogamous since 1977.
Happy Anniversary, Y’all!
Thanks to all for the congrats, we had a nice getaway.
And, Jan, regarding the seven year itch … we’ve been together 13 years, married for six of them.
Which means that we scratched our seven year itch by getting married.
Saying, “I do”, resets the clock.
All I meant was to watch the movie. Anyway, one really needs no excuse to watch Marilyn Monroe!
