PhotoDude For PresiDude

Seeing on the news today that Mitt Romney became (by my own inattentive count) the eighth human to declare they intend to be on the ballot in 21 months … well, it was the final straw.

I’ve decided to run for President.

Not in 2008. In 2004.

At this point in time, it seems only slightly more ridiculous than announcing that I’m running in 2008.

And as for that next election, as of now I’m going to throw my support behind the last person to enter the race. After I celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, two 4th of July’s, and a couple more birthdays and anniversaries.

But until at least November of 2007, a full term baby away, I intend to do my best to tune out every scrap of media devoted to any of these Eight Preemies. It’s like having the Grim Reaper sit on your couch for 21 months before you actually croak; “Um, I know The Day Is Coming, but can you give me a break, already?”

If you’re going to join a bandwagon, at least join one that’s more sensational, and gives you the opportunity to lay claim to someone’s inheritance. Specifically, I’m thinking you should add your name to the ever-growing list of people who claim they are the father of Anna-Nicole’s baby.

Who wasn’t that woman sleeping with? Well, besides me?

Great. Thanks, Todd. Just last night I promised my wife that I would deny them access to my DNA, so she’d never have to suffer through that kind of embarrassment. And then you come along and spill the beans.

Who wasn’t that woman sleeping with?

It appears she was sleeping with Gilligan, The Professor, and Mr. Howell, but not the Skipper.

The most tragic character in this whole dramady is Baron Von Claptrap, or whatever Zsa Zsa’s husband’s name is. Poor guy was on Larry King last night telling the sad tale of his two years of taking Viagra, how much he “loved the pill” (what, did it taste that good?), and how when he stopped taking it after two years non-stop he was no longer able to achieve an erection. So he’s suing the maker of Viagra. Oh, and, by the way, he’s DannyLynn’s daddy.

Gosh, I cold hardly sleep last night because I feel so sorry for him.

I would vote for you, but I didn’t have a vote in 2004.

PS. I got a call from one of the campaigns today asking for contributions and I gave him a piece of my mind about the perpetual election campaigns.

Todd++: +1.

Well, I appreciate the thought, Zack. Note, Todd didn’t even mention if he voted for me in 2004. I think a lot of people were embarrassed by my poor showing.

Maybe I should have announced earlier.

Great move. I definitely voted for you.

I confess I didn’t vote for you in ’04, but if you’ll announce for ’08 (it’s getting late, dammit!) I’ll send my vote your way. We definitely need a choice as it looks like the smart money is on a woman candidate
Not that I’d mind a woman, but do they have to be scary?

That is a most distressing video, for so many reasons. And I’m not a homophobic kind of guy, so that isn’t even one of them.

But it is a perfect illustration of what I’ve been trying to point out about these Preemies.

Rudy gave us an extra 9 or 10 months to watch that video that were completely unnecessary. And after 9 or 10 more months of stuff like this, it might mean he’s no longer considered a viable candidate.

Or Hillary. Or Barack. Or John M. Or John E. Or Mitt. Or Sam. Or Tom. In 9 or 10 more months, we’re going to be really tired of hearing about them all.

Already.
