Do Not Adjust Your Browser
Please do not adjust your browser. The cobbler’s barefoot child is finally getting some new shoes. As this site is upgraded to the latest super-duper version of Textpattern from an embarrassingly old version, I expect a few things to break. I expect to scratch my head a bit as I work out how best to fix it. In the meantime, this place may look wonky. This too shall pass.
Hours Later: Well, that wasn’t too bad. Since I was moving from revision 1188 to revision 2213, a huge number of changes, I expected some glitches. Instead, I spent some time improving the downloads page (you can now see the crazy number of people who’ve downloaded my excuses for music), and now when you go to a category page (like Iraq), the quotes and links in the right column are also all category related.
I also reduced the number of database calls per page by about 25% (that’s one of the reasons the recent comments had to change), but still need to cut a lot more in that area. That will have to wait for the next step, which will come at some as yet undetermined time. But to get ready, I had to take this first step and get Textpattern updated to the latest version.

Zack, what feed reader are you using? I just checked it in Bloglines, and don’t see any oddities, but they may be filtering it in some way.
Looks like comment preview is a bit off, too.
Hmmm. It appears the RSS feed is similarly afflicted.
I fixed the comment preview issue, but this one may take a little more detective work. And, frankly, there are far more important events today.
But thanks for pointing out that it is wonky.
Feeds fixed. There will soon be an svn revision in my name. Done manually for now.

You broke your Atom feed in some really strange way since it’s full of all kinds of strange characters now.
