Who Said What?

I’ve been truly truly swamped with work lately, but two unfortunately familiar talking heads have been bobbing on CNN (with the sound off) a disturbing amount lately.

One of them is the President. I mostly tuned him out some time ago, because I no longer see any need to clutter my brain with his unrelenting Same Old Same Old. It just makes me mad. And then there’s that other guy that ran in 2004. I tuned him out, oh, about mid-2004. Yet it appears he has put his foot in his mouth. Again.

And he still thinks he’s going to run again in 2008? His mouth isn’t near big enough for all the feet he’ll put in there between now and then. Senator What’s-Yer-Name, wasn’t losing one election for the Democrats enough? Can’t you at least sit this one out … if not the next one, as well? Other Democrats deserve the chance to lose an election for the team, too, you know.

And now that the media, the Partisan Machine(s), and the ever bleating rant-o-sphere have spent a couple of days gang banging the critical issue of John Kerry’s botched joke (which, frankly, could be any number of things), perhaps we can move on to more important issues.

Like, pretty much anything.

As for me, I’m putting my head down and going back to work. Carry on.

I’ve got no pity at all for Kerry. If that was an attempt at a jab at Bush, he missed the mark by a standard mile. I tend to think that he thought all the ‘oh it was meant to be about Bush’ after it blew up- the guy isn’t well known for apologizing for anything. When he once collided with a Secret Service guy on a ski slope, he called the other guy a ‘son of a bitch’, and when asked about it, said “I don’t fall down.” He’s waaaay past arrogant.

In any case, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. If the Democrats can make whole mockumentaries out of misspoken words by Bush, then Kerry is fair game too.

But aside from all that- aren’t Sonny Purdue’s advertisements a breath of fresh air? I’m very proud to see our governor is able to run a completely positive campaign- it’s a rare and welcome thing.

John Kerry – bad enough to wake up a Democrat’s dead blog.
