A Morning At The Aquarium
Weekday hookey. It’s A Good Thing … well, every now and then. So on Thursday I told my boss to “stick it, man” and we took off the the Georgia Aquarium.
It’s been open since last November, but life has interfered. But, Boy Howdy was it worth the trip. If you’re like us and have been putting it off … stop. My only large aquarium experience previously was a trip to the Monterey Aquarium in the late 80’s. This blew it away.
See for yourself. I’ll be adding some favorites as Pixel Piles, but there’s now a gallery of 76 photos online.

My daughter went crazy in front of that big window. She ran all over the place pointing out all kinds of fish and chanting “fish, fish.” We are thinking of going again soon.

Todd: “The tunnel at the Aquarium is the coolest 30 yards in the whole state of Georgia.”
It’s hard to argue with that. Me and my 17mm lens had a blast in that tunnel.
But I tell ya, it’s a close case … the Big Window may be the best twenty yards in Georgia. I sat down in front of that 60×24 foot window, and I could have stayed there all day. In fact, I intend to go back sometime and do just that.
