Create an e-annoyance, go to jail — “It’s no joke. Last Thursday, President Bush signed into law a prohibition on posting annoying Web messages or sending annoying e-mail messages without disclosing your true identity.” As much as I’d like to see certain annoying anonymous bloggers (and commenters) busting up rocks on the chain gang, I have a certain fondness for the First Amendment. But I’m curious what meets the legal standard for “annoy.”
