A Day of Peace, Goodwill, and Spare Parts
It’s that’s magical morning when children awaken to see only crumbs on the plate of treats they left Santa, find a mysterious pile of packages awaiting their probing fingers, and wonder … just how did Santa get that bike down the chimney? And why does Daddy look so sleepy? And what are these nuts and washers and spare parts lying around the living room floor?
Why, those are just the leftovers of the magic of Christmas morning, child. And Daddy’s sleepy look? That’s collateral damage.
But of course today is about much more than that. I’ll be spending mine with Susan’s family and mine, including enjoying this little elf’s first Christmas. It hardly gets better than that, even if there wasn’t a single traditional gift in sight.
So I feel pretty well set today. And I wish a Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Later: For her first Christmas, her Uncle Pooter decided to give Caroli her digital birthright. A day shy of ten months old, and the girl got domain!
