Atlanta's Newest Belle
Earlier today, I wrote “There are days that I really need a good story. A hopeful development. If not a happy ending, at least the end of a sad beginning. Yesterday, I got one.” And today, I got an even better one, as I went to the airport to meet LeeAnn and Danny on their return, and welcome Caroli to Atlanta.
It’s funny how it is often the littlest things that can make you the happiest. Like the littlest hand wrapped around your finger. It certainly made my day, week, and month.
LeeAnn and Caroli snuck up on me, as I was watching the area all arriving passengers must pass from the concourses … except those few who arrive on the T-Gates, and of course, that’s where they came in.
While Caroli stared at me with a look that said “mom, who’s the goofy guy,” LeeAnn pointed out the surprise they’d promised Uncle Pooter: Caroli was decked out in a Falcons jersey. The girl’s gonna be alright, I can tell already.
While LeeAnn and Danny were surprisingly energetic for all they’ve been through, Caroli was wondering why the sun was out at 3am (which is what time her body clock said it was). She was alternately semi-alert and so very tired.
So their luggage was gathered, loaded into the big stroller, and they were on their way after Caroli asked insistently, “tell me again why the sun is in my eyes at 3am?”
Miss Caroli has arrived, her long journey ending with a royal ride home in a stretch limo. Atlanta’s got a new belle.

Having to live through pictures and words has been hard for me, but to see you back with her here is wonderful.
I look forward to meeting my new niece! Welcome home guys. You have a beautiful family!
Let’s try something other than Aunt Pootie though.
Love You All!

Like the littlest hand wrapped around your finger.
unquestionably one of the best things in the world.
even better than brown paper packages tied up with string.

I guess I should post Michelle’s photos with her Falcons caps on my blog then.
