A Few Textpattern Styles
Since Textpattern 1.0 Release Candidate 1 is now available (on my birthday, no less), and has moved to a Trac repository, things are likely to move along pretty fast with Textpattern.
Dean has mentioned incorporating a “Themes” feature that would allow easy customization of the templates, forms , and styles. And many experienced Textpattern users have talked of creating a “Community Styles” site with a wide range of offerings. It is that kind of easy flexibility that will attract new users.
But for now, you pretty much have to know CSS to change the look of a Textpattern site, as there are very few pre-fab options out there. So I thought I would offer a few simple copy-and-paste options to change the style and look of the default Textpattern installation: Textpattern Styles.
Though anyone is welcome to use them (and modify them), they were designed for the new Textpattern user who is still using the original templates and forms installed by default, and knows little-to-nothing about HTML, template tags, or CSS, yet would like a simple copy and paste option to change the look of their site.
For now, there’s only two base designs with some variations (a total of 5 styles), but I hope to keep adding to it over time.

Reid, those are great styles. You’ve done some nice work within the framework of the default templates. Nice going!
Thanks for the kind words, Alan. And, John, it’s funny you should mention sleep. Three or four times a year, I’ll have a bout of insomnia. I simply don’t get sleepy, and find myself at the ‘puter at 2am, puttering.
Well, this has been one of those insomniac weeks. And my late night puttering was spent on stylesheets for the newly released Textpattern 1.0rc1.
I’m happy to have done it … but I’d rather have been sleeping.
Happy birthday!
Darn! I didn’t bring anything.
Thanks for your efforts! I am truly a css idiot ;)

Do you ever sleep? Just wondering.
