Image Changes 'Round Here
Sgt. Stryker recently requested, “If anyone runs a moderate or independent site, or knows of one, please email a link or leave it in the comments. Note: Having a Bush or Kerry button on the page disqualifies the site.”
It got me to thinking, and as I looked around at other sites, I realized dang near everybody has a button declaring their Presidential Love. I decided it was time to add mine, which you now see on the top of the page.
Obviously, I know Curly isn’t electable (or even alive), and I’m going to have to choose between the two main candidates at some point. But until I decide between Moe and Larry, it’s Curly for now. It makes the only political statement I currently have to offer, and does it well.
The other “image change” is some behind the scenes mod_rewrite voodoo that shouldn’t have any effect on you. It’s meant to block those folks who like to post my images in chat forums, or as a background for their web site, and draw it off the bandwith that I pay for. That part works. However, there’s also a slim possibility it may inadvertently block images on this page under certain circumstances, so if you suddenly can’t see the pictures, please use the “Contact” link in the right column to let me know what you’re using (ISP, OS, firewall, etc.). Thanks.
I’ve made a modification to the rewrite rules I’ve used in the past (and abandoned due to this one issue), and if it works as well as I hope it will, I’ll share it here later.
Later: Thanks to the Firefox user who “faked” their referrer to check my work late last night, I found an error. A fix is now in place.

I hate advertising my own web site. It feels weird… But here goes anyway.
Until just this week, I was linking to all five presidential candidates’ web pages. But this week I decided to remove the links to the Bush and Kerry sites because I figured everyone who cares would know them anyway, and putting one above the other seemed silly. Besides, the three lesser candidates need more attention.
Aside from that, I just try to cover every angle. I’ll let my opinion shine through occasionally, but for the most part it’s a bias-free site (lately, anyway). The three biggest topics tend to be politics, baseball, and entertainment.
