Atlanta Time Machine
Back in late March, when this site was relatively “dark” as I wrestled with servers, and databases, and web hosts (Oh, My!), I got an e-mail:
“I just started a website (http://atlantatimemachine.com/) that attempts to chronicle some of Atlanta’s architectural history by comparing photos from the past (4 or 5 decades old, mostly) to contemporary shots taken from the same perspective as the original photographer.”
That was all I needed to drop my shovel of frustration, and take a break to see what he’d done. An hour later, I was still clicking.
The amount of work that went into this site is most impressive. And if you’ve ever lived in Atlanta, or simply love old pictures, you’ll probably find this site as fascinating as I did.

Very interesting.
Hi Reid,
I just saw your link in the comment on Milblog. Have to look over your site. I love old city pictures. The NY Times runs a “Street Scene” picture every week of some scene in NYC from maybe the 40’s or so and I can just imagine my father and his brothers (now gone a long time) as young people there.
