AJC Got Blog

AJC Got Blog – Much to my surprise, tonight I found out my local newspaper, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, has a blog. Of sorts.

I say ”of sorts” because a blog is supposed to have functional clickable links, not a plain text listing of the URL: ”A California Democrat, John Pearce, claims hes getting almost 9,000 hits a day on his Web site, www.ralphdontrun.net.” And the only place I can find an attempt at making an actual outside link, well, it’s a sad failure.

But they do have permalinks and categories, and it’s clear that whatever editorial control there might be, it’s … loose: ”On the sunniest day in Atanta in a long time…

And in that same entry, we get idiosyncratic details about John Edwards that one might expect from a blog: ”Away from the madding media and in the serenity of a white SUV, Edwards soothed his cough and downed an ice-cold Diet Coke, the official drink of the campaign. Apparently, he has converted his entire staff to the drink of his choice.” (Sure to garner a few votes in Atlanta)

I’m really bad about eating double cheeseburgers. That’s what I love.

So for the time being, I’ve added the AJC Election Blog to the Atlanta section of my blogroll. It appears they’ve only been posting for the past couple of weeks, and like all listed sites, should they slack off in their updating, they get the boot.

Well, at least that "blog" has permalinks, archives and categories. Take a look at this mess, which claims to be a weblog. It does actually have real links, though...

Oops, I linked to an "entry," not the alleged "main page," which is even more pitiful.
