Evidence of Distraction – Yes, I’ve been a tad quiet this week. When I’m working on a project that’s important to me, I get a bit of tunnel vision. Bear with me, and I’ll try to maintain some “normal programming” ... I mean, I have to vent sometime, don’t I?
For now I’m heads down in code and pixels. It’s something I’ve been thinking about and talking about far too much, for far too long. So, yeah, I’m a little bit obsessed.
It’s about a week from launch, with more than half the inventory in place. Does that qualify as a beta? [this is no announcement, that will come later … it’s just a peek]

Best of luck to you! May be tempted to add a similar feature to my new gallery, if I thought the demand warranted the effort. You've done a fine job with this and I am glad to see that the war situation hasn't totally distracted you from photography.
Well done! Just don't be surprised if this "distraction" starts getting teeth and being hungry all the time. "Feed me, dammit!" The more you feed it, the more cheery emails keep rolling in; it's hard to stop.

Build it, and they will come. 7 years ago this month, with a whopping 45 days education in HTML, I built a silly little site that probably got 5 visitors a day in its first week ... and then traffic tapered off after that. Today, I get hundreds to thousands of visitors, depending on the day, for essentially doing the same silly stuff in a more technically sophisticated form (And if just one tenth of one percent of them buy a print...). It's a niche. And you, sir, have carved a fine niche for yourself with alternative processes. If you can come up with a way to produce and market those for sale via your site, on term$ you find agreeable, I can't imagine there being much downside. The only thing that's been holding me back was the equipment to do it properly (or rather, the money for that equipment). Obviously, it's an entirely different undertaking for you (no pun intended), but I highly encourage you to think hard about doing it. "Feed me, dammit!" I've been doing little but feeding this infant for some time now. You're right, I've created a hungry monster. I expect to launch next week with 48 images in four categories, but have already mapped out the plan for over 100 images in 15-20 categories, hopefully added in the month after launch. Beyond that, it will be up to requests (there's over 1200 Pixel Piles) and newly shot work.
