Another Random Rumination

Another Random Rumination – Suppose you’re Saddam. You never sleep in the same place two nights in a row, even during the quietest of times. In a war, you’ve got to know that any place you stay could be attacked. As a dictator, you’ve got to be able to display clearly at any time that you are still Da Man. That’s how you stay Da Man.

War could break out on any given night. So during that time, each night before you go to bed you sit down in front of a camera, and read a prepared speech from a steno pad, inserting the next day’s date. Just in case something happens overnight and there’s a need to show you’re still in control after an attack.

Then you take off your granny glasses and go to bed.

After the American’s launch their infamous shock and awe attack, any self respecting dictator would again step to the mike with a clear demonstration that’s he still Da Man, and that the attack was but a mosquito to him. We haven’t seen that second defiant video, like the one after the first attack. The one that could have been made before he went to bed. We haven’t seen a lot of things the Iraqis promised, like attacks against Israel. The kind that can only be ordered by Da Man.

I’m just sayin’...

(This would also explain how one set of analysts say the tape is indeed Saddam, and another set is certain Saddam was carried out on a gurney after the attack)
