Early Qualifications for 2004
Early Qualifications for 2004 – Punditwatch reports the following from Vermont Governor and presidential candidate Howard Dean: “Asked what he would do when war breaks out, Dean replied, ’support the troops,’ although he admitted, ’I haven’t thought that far ahead.’”
Well, you sold me, Gov. If I should decide I want a Democrat who can’t think past next week as President, I’ll keep you in mind in 2004.

Gah! You know, I liked Howard Dean for the first month or two that I was finding out stuff about him. He was my early favorite for the primary season. Being anti-Iraq-war didn't, in and of itself, sway my opinion; I was on the fence and willing to be convinced on that score, and a lot of reasonable people are against the war. But his opposition seems to have gotten terribly reactive and one-note; he's just against anything Bush is for. And this is the ultimate indication of that. We need someone who is more serious than Bush about foreign policy, not less. Kerry's dropping in my estimation too.
