Stand Down
Stand Down – (via Brushstoke.tv) "The members of Stand Down hold a wide variety of different and, indeed, conflicting political positions, but all are in agreement on a single proposition: that the use of military force to effect ’regime change’ in Iraq is ill advised and unjustified. We do not deny that the current Iraqi regime is monstrous, but we hold, following John Adams, that the United States need not go ’abroad in search of monsters to destroy’ unless they pose a clear and direct threat to American national security."
Although I do find the use of the ”Don’t Tread on Me” symbol with the coiled snake a bit philosophically odd to be on their Unity Statement, I thought I’d pass on this link for those who would like to find a collection of voices against forcing ”regime change” in Iraq militarily. As noted, while some prefer not to be linked by someone holding opposing views, others of us believe in linking views we don’t hold ourselves, so the reader can ”source it out” and come to their own conclusions.
Varied Sources (both news and weblogs) plus One Brain equals Independent Thought. Those who insist on some philosophical ”no-link” policy are advocating something other than independent thought. If your argument is so righteous and good, it should stand on its own or in comparison to others, so why should you care who links it?
