We're Back!
We’re Back! – We had such a blast of a time, we had to extend our stay a day. But now we’re safely home in Atlanta, soothing the ruffled fur of three woeful kitties, certain we had abandoned them.
They don’t know how close they were to being right.
We enjoyed our trip so much, we were reluctant to return, and daydreamed schemes of how we might move (mostly involving the lottery). Over the next few days I’ll share lots and lots and lots of photos from our destination, and stories of our visit.
Eventually, I’ll have more about the wedding itself, but it will be a while before we can round up the various wedding photos taken by others. Film is slow and expensive. Everything you’ve seen so far is from my Nikon 990, mostly taken by my sister, who must have gotten at least some of the ”photo-genes” to have done so well with a strange camera.
For now, suffice it to say the wedding was beautiful, and I feel safe saying that because I basically just showed up. Susan did all the planning and the real work, and she did it wonderfully. The Wedding Machine hummed like a finely tuned Ferrari (although on my arrival, the ”pit crew” was missing, the tires were off, and the gas tank was empty … but the groom fixed those things himself to get it kick started for the bride, and then it hummed just as planned, with no one the wiser).
But I guess I did my part, as a friend reminded me in one of the 250 e-mails I had waiting on my return: "Talking about a Wedding Machine, though, what kind of machine can get married, go to a reception, leave for a honeymoon and still put about 2000 words and photos on a weblog in one day?"
Well, we all express ourselves in different ways, using different machines. And many thanks to all those who left comments, or sent e-mails. We haven’t gotten around to responding to them yet, but they are all appreciated.
