Bush Will Consult Saudis on War

Bush Will Consult Saudis on War – (and the echo of this anger continues) "President Bush pledged in a meeting on Tuesday with the Saudi ambassador to consult with Saudi Arabia and other countries as he approaches a decision on whether to attack Iraq, the White House said."

Wow. Maybe he’ll even talk to Congress about it, too. Coming one day after the White House went out of their way to say that Congressional approval isn’t legally required if he chooses war with Iraq, this tends to give the impression the Saudis take precedence in the Bush White House. The Saudi prince is portrayed by the President’s mouthpiece as "a very affable fellow, very good humor, speaks English better than most Americans". He gets a kiss and a promise of consultations, while Congress gets a slap in the face and a ”maybe.”

Have I mentioned lately that Congress is the Constitutional personification of the American public, the ones the White House says, for the most part, speak English worse than a Saudi prince?

I feel so … represented. Respected, too.
