Windows Miracle
Windows Miracle – We all know how Windows based computers are prone to crash (or require a reboot for some reason), are particularly susceptible to viral infection, and sometimes you just have to "format C:/" and start over.
I just rebooted my computer, and my DSL software informed me it had been connected since 10:30pm on 7/28. A full seven days of Windows 98 operating without a reboot. That makes it almost a hat trick. I’ve never owned a computer where things got so screwed up I had to reinstall the operating sysytem, and I’ve also never had a computer virus.
It’s almost like having a Mac!

I reformat and reinstall Windows every six months. It seems to keep the machine running smoothly. On the other hand, I have machines at work and my folks place that have been running without a reinstall for years. I've never tried a Mac, the lure of cheap hardware that I can upgrade easily has just been too strong. For me, Apple keeping proprietary control of most of the key parts of its hardware has kept pricing up. Side note, Adobe ships more copies of Photoshop for Windows than they do for Mac.
...yeah, except that macs (at least the os9.? ones i worked with/support at work) crash all the time, up to and including the dreaded "unplugging it is the only way to get it to reboot" crash. =] and, really, I would argue that whatever OS you choose, it's going to be relatively rock-solid until you install other software, at which point it's no longer that fault of mac or MS or whatever that your computer dies a lot. :P
My Mac OS9.X has been rock solid. Plenty of 3rd party software. I do regularly run Disk Warrior and Nortons and have had no problems at all. I'm still watching 10--not ready and don't feel it necessary to make the leap; though I have it loaded. Isn't there a new one, Jaguar?
Who are you kidding, d-girl? I remember stories of monitors catching fire, and tales of MacWoe that curled the short hairs of this PC'er. Of course, it could just be you, not the Mac. But I'm glad to hear you've whipped that thing into shape.
BS. Do you remember how old that monitor was? It was probably the first one they ever made. The CPU never did quit. So, quit telling half-truths. Forgive me if that spelling is incorrect, you haven't developed a spell checker on your blog, as yet. When can we expect that? Woes? I've had one bad Mac--and it's still in use by someone who uses it for storage. I have a PowerBook, now... Hear Me Roar.
Don't give me that "old monitor" story. They just raised a Monitor from the depths of the oceans after 140 years, and it's still structurally sound. As for a spell checker for comments, I'm afraid that function is only available to PC users. And by the way, Ms. Hear Me Roar, when you open tags for bold or italics, you should close them, too.
1. Source, please. 2. Source, please 3. It's your blogs fault. I put them in and they showed up in the preview. I took them out and they worked. Look how crazy this "Preview" looks. How am I supposed to fix the indent of the first line?
