Reality TV?
Reality TV? – (via Meryl Yourish) You know those times someone ask you a question, you bumble through a reply, and later daydream about the cutting answer you wish you’d given? That’s the way I felt watching a scene in West Wing last week, and Meryl was kind enough to track down and post the transcript. The moment: The character of C.J. Craig, the White House Press Secretary, is asked if she is outraged by the death of Saudi girls who burned to death beacuse the religious police feared they would be seen improperly clothed by ”strangers,” i.e., the firefighters:
"Outraged? I’m barely surprised. This is a country where women aren’t allowed to drive a car. They’re not allowed to be in the company of any man other than a close relative. They’re required to adhere to a dress code that would make a Maryknoll nun look like Malibu Barbie. They beheaded 121 people last year for robbery, rape, and drug trafficking. They have no free press, no elected government, no political parties, and the royal family allows the religious police to travel in groups of six, carrying nightsticks, and they freely and publicly beat women. But Brutus is an honorable man.
Seventeen schoolgirls were forced to burn alive because they weren’t wearing the proper clothing. Am I outraged? No, Steve, no Chris, no Mark. That is Saudi Arabia, our partners in peace."
Then Ari Fleischer brings me back to reality.

Hi, at first i would like to tell u a lettle about my self I am a 25 year old girl who works as a web designer in a "Saudi" company. I was bron and spent half of my life in the States than movied to Saudi with my parents. I dont want to seem rude but I couldent stop laughing fro an houer after i red an Articale here by the name "realty TV" and from experince I can assure u that none of this is actuly true about Saudi women except that part where it says that women are not allowd to drive, but on the other hand women here have other rights that American women dont have. Any way I just wanted to clear that up and thank you.
