"9/11" on CBS
9/11 on CBS – Like millions, I watched the amazing footage last night. It left me speechless, so I’ll let TwistyPants say it better than I could:
"As painful as it was to witness all the devastation and loss (at times, it was too much to bear), I found the moment following the collapse of Tower 1 utterly profound. The cameraman lying on the pavement, buried in debris, his camera recording nothing but dust and utter silence. Who would ever have believed New York City could be so quiet? It was if the planet stopped spinning just long enough to allow thousands of souls to soar free all at once. A remarkable and utterly surreal moment of peace. As I sat there, barely breathing, I was surprised to hear the word ’goodbye’ escape from my mouth. I had no idea. Apparently, it’s been inside me all this time, waiting."
