European Columnist Offers Bounty for Bush's Murder
European Columnist Offers Bounty for Bush’s Murder – And you thought the Anti-Americanism coming out of Europe was as bad as it could get: "Given that Osama Bin Laden has a price on his head and is wanted dead or alive for organising acts of terrorism, it seems only fair to offer a bounty to anyone who can kill George Bush. After all, he is helping to bankroll the AUC. So my contribution to the war against terrorism is to offer 4,320, my total earnings so far for writing in the New Statesman, to anyone who can bag Bush. You don’t have to bring me his head or snack on his heart. Nothing weird, just kill him and send me your bank details c/o the New Statesman."
Oh, those Brits and their subtle humor. "I would obviously settle for him accidentally stabbing himself to death with the pin from his enamel US flag badge."
Very funny, Mr. Thomas. I hope you’ll have time to share a good laugh with the Secret Service, while sitting underneath the naked light bulb. They’re well known for their sense of humor about these issues.
But even if the Secret Service decides they have better things to do than mop up puddles of EuroWhining, I’m thankful the Internet allows us to see who our friends are. Threats against our President, satiric or not, can hardly be expected to encourage anything remotely resembling ”multi-lateralism” from the US, if that was ever their intent. The effect is quite the opposite. But, as always, I’m thankful for the education in European views. It’s important to know these things.

Get a life...care about Bush?? He's protected better than all of us..care about yourself instead! Everyone in the U.S. now has an "unofficial" bounty on their heads... To a third world, shanty living inhabitant, anything the President says is reflected back on to the people he represents.... Sometimes it takes wicked humour to make us reflect on just who or what is at risk...
Mark Thomas is one of the most intelligent people involved in political analysis anywhere. He has genuine compassion for democracy and is renowned for bringing to public attention government flaws and lies. If people like him became president as opposed to a moronically thick, gun toting texan oil tychoon your country might not be the enemy of the developing world. On a personal note, I wish hid offer wasnt satirical.

Let's get some pledges up and put a bounty on the author's (Mark Thomas') head. I'm only half kidding. If a semi-serious campaign were stared he'd hide like Salmon Rushdie. What a punk.
