Time for Fireworks!
China says U.S. spy plane cannot fly home – According to Foreign Ministry SpokesCommie Sun Yuxi, ” ’The Chinese side has several times stated clearly in relevant Sino-U.S. negotiations that it is impossible for the U.S. EP-3 plane to fly back to U.S. from Hainan Island,’ Sun was quoted as saying, without saying why. The United States should adopt a practical and constructive attitude on the treatment of the U.S. plane, he added.”
It’s like negotiating with a mugger in a dark alley for your own wallet. I suggest we agree with the Chinese, and inform them we’ve decided to honor them with a display of one of their oldest and earliest traditions: fireworks. Tell them that at midnight there will be a $1.2 million pyrotechnic display (approximate cost of the one Tomahawk cruise missile it would take to eliminate whatever little remains of that plane).

Great idea. Photo Dude for Secretary of State! Put Colin back in the Pentagon.
Colin is Secretary of State? Judging from recent news, I thought it was Donald Rumsfeld. I would not fare well in the diplomacy department. I'd be better in a newly created post, Secretary of Tellin' It Like It Is. But I'd probably be best suited for Press Secretary, presuming the large stick that often appears to be stuck up Ari Fleischer's butt is not required for the position.
