Atlanta Traffic Hell
Diesel truck overturns, explodes in ball of flames – OK, that’s it, I’m taking a gig working the overnight shift, or a complete telecommuting position. Thursday morning, a chunk fell out of a bridge over the Chattahoochee River on I-285, and turned the Perimeter into one big used car lot when the bridge was closed. Friday morning, just as rush hour was beginning, there was a four car accident (complete with another fireball) on I-85 southbound that completely shut down the interstate for several hours. It was the Waterloo of Atlanta traffic jams, with some folks taking 4 hours to get to work. And today, exploding diesel tankers on the Georgia Autobahn, also known as GA 400.
”A police dispatcher told CNN that all of Georgia 400 was closed for about two hours before the northbound lanes reopened. It was unclear Saturday night whether the southbound lanes had reopened.” I know everyone thought I was joking when I asked for the strap on helicopter for Christmas, but I’m serious. Really.
